Owner Alice says 'We found it hard to get hold of lovely season english blooms and have finally found a supplier with gorgeous flowers and foliage delivered to us just two days after cutting! We also hope to stock a range of ethically sourced flowers soon. We find country garden style bouquets to be popular so its exciting that we'll be providing our customers with good old english produce. Our next delivery has paeonies, snapdragons, lilies and sunflowers which to me are the essence of summer'

After a busy summer we're now looking forward to Christmas. This year we have a whole host of yummy items to decorate your home for the festive season, from pretty tree decorations to a stunning floral and candle arrangements for the dining table. Flower deliveries for christmas - we'll be delivering up until 12pm on christmas eve although the shop will be open until 4pm for any late orders to be collected. Fresh christmas wreaths will be available from the firrst in december. Wedding trends, eco weddings

With a busy wedding season approaching Blossom are seeing a growing trend for a more natural style of flowers, particularly meadow style flowers. Owner Alice says 'Talking to brides I really get the feeling theres a move towards looser more informal styles of flowers for weddings, a particular favourite was a teepee reception with gorgeous buckets of poppies, marigolds and ranunculas in beautiful jewel tones, the bride and bridesmaids wore willow 'crowns' with delicate flowers woven through which looked stunning. I'm also aware that there is a large growth in eco weddings as more couples do their bit for the environment. We are happy to supply flowers created in a more sympathetic way using natural materials such as moss and grasses instead of oasis and wires'.

Blossom also offer a wide selection of plants for wedding tables as an alternative to flowers, from elegant orchids to funky gerbera plants, scented lavender to herbs. These also make perfect lasting gifts for the wedding party.

How time flies as the team at Blossom prepare for Valentines which falls on a Saturday this year. Blossom will have a lovely selection of flowers for your special someone from the traditional dozen red roses to gorgeous gift bags of pretty tulips which proved a popular item last year. There will be a range of items ready to go or you can chose something for a bespoke bouquet. Owner Alice says 'We will be delivering up until 5pm on February 14th so orders can placed up until 3pm on Saturday although we dont recommend this as stock will be more limited! Customers can either call the shop if they wish to discuss their requirements or order online in our webshop'

With just under five weeks until christmas Blossom is all geared up for christmas again. Its well worth paying the shop a visit, Owner Alice says 'We've gone for alot of rich reds and golds this with fruit and spice and a touch of sparkle, the shop looks so pretty at christmas as the building lends itself to a warm cosy feel'.

Again this year Blossom have a large range of wreaths from dried vine rings, to fresh spruce wreaths and stunning fresh flower wreaths that make any door look welcoming. Also available are bare wreaths for customers to have a go themselves along with lots of lovely bits to decorate them with. Blossom has some thing for everyone this christmas...

'The season's changing and so are the colours we are working with in the shop, gorgeous rich reds, oranges, berries and jewel tones..' says Alice of Blossom. 'pinks are endlessly popular but as it gets colder and the colours change its nice to have real warm tones in the home'

Blossom have a lovely range of autumnal wreaths and 'twiggy' items in for this season which are ideal for indoors but also make a pretty feature outside whilst the garden is a bit bare! Also on sale are mini pumpkins or gourds, nobbly bobbly and perfect for simply decorating a dining table.

Next up, Christmas but we'll try to hold off as long as possible!

Blossom have been busy over the summer months creating gorgeous wedding flowers. Owner Alice says 'I've seen a real trend for vintage country style wedding flowers, lots of soft muted colours. We get a few more unusual colour themes too which we really enjoy doing, particularly a gorgeous cerise and turquoise theme in May. We are now looking forward to the Autumn and Winter Weddings with richer stronger colour themes and are already taking bookings for 2009 weddings.'

With just a week to go until Mothering Sunday, which this year falls on Sunday March 2nd all at Blossom are putting the final touches to their stunning plant displays with flower displays being created later in the week to ensure freshness.

There really is something for everyone, small spring plants to suit the little ones pocket money or something a little grander for the those with more pocket money! Stunning orchids in a beautiful gun metal grey glass vase are proving a popular gift this year as well as our more unusual cacti.
